Scone Palace

Scone Palace viewed from the Abbey Gateway.
| Moot or "Boot" Hill. Site of the coronation of the Kings of Scotland and of Scottish
Parliament. This artiticial mound was created by earth brought in the boots of lords
swearing loyalty to their King.
The stone is a replica of the one upon which the Kings of Scots were crowned on Moot Hill
until 1296, when Edward I took the stone to Westminster Abbey... |
