Kaua'i is often refered to as the home of a race of little people called menehune. Legend after legend tells of happy elve-like, coming down from the mountains to produce great engineering works in stone.
Our favorite place to eat, where we came several times : the lady was so nice and served traditional Hawai'ian plates.
- poi (a paste pounded from cooked taro corms) and lomi lomi salmon (marinated thin slices of raw salmon with diced tomatoes and green onions)
- rice and coleslaw
- Kalua pork in a taro leaf (pig roasted in an imu)
