Waimea
Captain Cook Statue
Sunset on Waimea Beach
Today, Waimea remains the biggest town on the west side of the island.
This statue is a replica of the original one by sir John Tweed, that stands in Withby, England.
It was at Waimea (which means "reddish water") that Captain Cook first came ashore on the Hawai'ian islands.
The laundry we used to wash our clothes (actually, Dany chose this picture because he liked the western-like style of the building !)
