Lava Beds

 

Centuries ago, a group of volcanoes erupted in the Klamath Basin, near the Oregon border. Cinder and spatter cones and miles of undulating, hardened flows show the viscosity of once molten lava, flow patterns, lava tubes and honeycombs of caves created by sudden cooling.
